Note:

Nowadays, trafficking in persons in the world, and particularly in Africa, has become a recurrent and worrisome concern for human security. It is also one of the adverse effects of globalization that generates cross-border issues which Africa must face.

West Africa is a region where the phenomenon is most developed to the point that initiatives to address it have been taken within the framework of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The phenomenon spares no country in the sub-region and particularly affects vulnerable groups of population, including women, children and migrants.
